Description

Description

Chemical oxygen demand (COD) is a measure of the amount of oxygen that can be consumed by reactions in a measured solution. A COD test quantifies the amount of organic materials in waste water or surface water. COD measurements are commonly made on samples to determine the amount of oxidizable pollutants and to determine the effect a particular effluent will have on a receiving body.
